Meet The Trainers

Edie Daugherty, Assistant GM/Personal Trainer
As a former college volleyball player, coach and personal trainer, Edie brings a unique dimension to the RAC family. Her background also includes a degree in exercise science from Western Michigan University and a National Strength and Conditioning personal trainer certification. Her love of sports translates into a very practical knowledge of sports-related movements and fundamental skills. But whether you’re involved in sports or not—Edie’s experience goes beyond athletics. Her experience leading sports camps and working as a personal trainer enables her to pinpoint exactly what you need—whether your goal is to run a marathon, drop 50 lbs or look your best for the beach season.

Ronisha (Nisha) Robinson
After visiting a health club with a friend, Nisha took interest in lifting weights and becoming physically stronger. She spent time weight training and fell in love with every aspect of fitness, including helping others become stronger and healthier.

In May of 2015 she became certified through the American Council of Exercise. A month later she quit her desk job and pursued Personal Training full time in Chicago, IL and Michigan. She ran her own fitness studio specializing in functional and strength training along with weight loss. In July of 2016, she competed in her first NPC bodybuilding competition and placed third, making her a National Qualified competitor. She is currently prepping for Nationals 2016 to obtain her “Pro Card” and someday qualify for the women’s bodybuilding portion of Joe Weider’s Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend, thus earning the title of Ms. Olympia.

Nisha’s training in powerlifting enables her to successfully train women and men to meet their strength goals. She believes that with discipline, dedication, and willpower, positive change is inevitable. She is eager to help others at RAC be relentless in succeeding and tells her clients, “Only you can stop you from achieving your goals. Keep going.”
Isaac Hernandez
After watching the film Rocky, Isaac discovered his passion for fitness. He fell in love with the impression of being the underdog, of having to go out and get what you think you’re worth. From age five up until college, Isaac participated in soccer, football, track, cross country, swimming, and lacrosse. He attended the University of Dubuque where he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Philosophy.

He mixes philosophy and exercise in his training. His philosophy is that everyone can find worth in exercise, and his belief is that everyone should come to see their own potential and feel proud of themselves mentally and physically. By playing different sports, he has seen many different training styles and has been on multiple sides of the fitness spectrum. This gives him a unique insight which leads to compassion—no matter the fitness goal at hand. He is eager to help every underdog find their potential and worth.
Stace Tucker
“Hard work beats talent if talent doesn’t want to work hard.”
Growing up, Stace often heard that phrase from his coach. It’s a phrase he quickly adopted and adamantly sticks to. He believes exercising relieves stress, retains focus and, above all else, gives a greater purpose to life.
Stace earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Western Michigan University, his Personal Training Certificate through American College of Sports Medicine and is a certified Spinning Instructor. As a personal trainer, he has worked with a variety of clients between 12 and 87 years of age.
He knows you can achieve your goal if you work hard, are consistent, and find a perfect mixture of work and fun. He likes to start with a foundation and build upon it, while also throwing curveballs to challenge you.
Stace’s background is in running, swimming and triathlons. He is particularly passionate about triathlons, having competed in over thirty, making age group nationals seven years in a row and international team twice.
Taylor Kibby
Taylor graduated from Michigan State University in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Nutrition. She earned her personal training certification through the American College of Sports Medicine and is also certified through the American Red Cross in First Aid and CPR.

Taylor realized how much she enjoyed training and helping others to stay fit when she participated in an internship at Spartan Performance, where she trained young athletes in the physical, mental, and nutritional aspects of sport performance.

Taylor has a passion for running and is very self-motivated. She hopes to share this motivation and dedication with those who are looking to make exercise a daily part of their life. The passion she has can be seen in one of her favorite quotes, "Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go."
Becky Ray
After six years of training as a gymnast, Becky decided to look elsewhere for exercise—taking up pilates, walking, free weights and cardio kickboxing. Nine years later, she returned to the same gym where she took lessons as a child and joined her college’s gymnastics team.

Becky Ray, now a senior at Andrew’s University, will be receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in the Spring of 2016. She currently holds certifications from R.I.P.P.E.D., CPR and AED through the Red Cross. She will soon be certified in personal training through American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

Becky hopes to share the love and passion she has for exercise with others and to encourage them on their fitness journey. She hopes through her passion, she can inspire people to take a proactive approach to their health.
Doug Bohen
To call Doug a fitness enthusiast would be an understatement. He has spent most of his life dedicated to one passion: helping others achieve their health and fitness goals.

He earned his degree in Health and Fitness at Cincinnati State and became certified as a personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Since earning his degree, he has worked in Ohio and Florida as a personal trainer for clients of all ages, ranging from high school athletes to senior citizens.

As a trainer, he strikes the right balance between challenging his clients to push harder and supporting their success. Doug strongly believes that anyone can make improvements in their life through proper fitness and nutrition. Let him help you on your quest for better fitness and a better quality of life.

His enthusiasm can be summarized by the motto he lives and trains by, "Train hard, train smart and train for the long-term!"
Lanie Schrubba, Group Exercise Director
With over 20 years of technical dance training and a varsity track and field background, Lanie brings a unique style of fitness training to RAC. She knows first-hand how challenging it can be to stay healthy and active with a busy lifestyle, which is why she is so eager to help others stay on track.

Lanie’s credentials include a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and a minor in dance from Western Michigan University. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, Certified Power Plate Trainer and is a certified instructor through BOSU®.

Lanie believes that everyone has a different reason for exercising and she is motivated to help her clients successfully reach their health and fitness goals. As a personal trainer, she specializes in weight loss, strength training, and balance/stability training.

As an instructor, Lanie has over 10 years of experience. In the group exercise setting, she enjoys keeping her participants motivated with her high energy and enthusiasm. Lanie hopes that all of her participants leave her classes feeling accomplished with a smile on their face.
